Sometimes I go through social media sites to see if my residents have said anything about me. Like anything- good, bad, do they even KNOW WHO I AM?
I need a life.
I did that once and apparently one of my residents thinks that I say cool beans too much….
At first I was like
then I made it a point to say cool beans more especially around that resident
so i went school shopping yesterday and the thing i’m most excited about that i bought was my crayola dry erase markers!
which means colorful welcome messages on my residents’ doors!
how do you welcome your residents on move in day?
Cookies and candy, bribe them into loving me.
Oh my GOD!
I was just informed by one of my old residents that his roommates and himself created a game called “Who can sleep with the RA first?”
At first I didn’t know what to say, I mean what can you say to that?!?
Then everything started to make a lot of sense, the constant invitations out to dinner and the conversations that seemed to always revolved around inappropriate things and I would have to awkwardly excuse myself with a make believe scenario.
So I told him, “Well… you all lose.”
I seriously started tearing up when I read this. One of my residents wrote this on the quality of life evaluation forms, he/she didn’t have to say anything about me, but he/she did.
It’s moments like these that I love my job.
I’m still trying to contain all my feels.
I adore my residents
They made me coffee and then another gave me some food
I think this kid doesn’t like the fact that we are letting him clean up his poo water on his own
He’s all glaring at me….
But homeboy, here’s the rules:
You overflow the porcelain throne, you’re on your own.
I am NOT touching your shit
Awesome, some kid’s room is over flooding with water
My duty partner and I just entered a building singing Wannabe by the Spice Girls
I’m a girl and he’s a dude
2 separate incidents involving alcohol
and the night is still young
I love how my housing staff and I don’t clap anymore.
No, we throw the District 12 salute
